Music City Arabian Show
What a show! Brookhill and trainer Jill Girardi Thomas took six horses to the show - the first ever show for four of the horses!! We consider this our "home show" since it is only 1/2 hour away in Murfreesboro, and we are very proud of winning a halter championship each of the last two years (BH Opening Statement - Junior Champion colt 2006, Rimaraa - Junior Champion Filly 2007). Well, star mare BH American Girl made sure it was a three-peat, bringing home the 2008 Senior Champion Mare title (pictured at right, Lisa Abraham photo)! American Girl and owner
Jéanne Abernathy also captured the Amateur to handle mare title. Jéanne went reserve in this class last year with American Girl's full sister BH Mishaala Justina, so this was a sweet win.
2-year old colt Zahbaad Zahir did his part at his first horse show, winning Reserve Junior Champion Colt. His stablemate Zaleeh Zahir, also at her first show, came through in winning fashion, capturing the blue in the 2-year old filly class. Geldings Amir Asil and RTA The Phoenix both came in reserve in the 2-year old and 3 & over gelding halter classes with Jill, respectively. Amateur handler Miller Pinson then stepped to take reserve in the Gelding AOTH class. 5-year old stallion Tango Bey, at his first show, came in third in Sport Horse in Hand Open & ATH with great scores. While Friday was a madhouse, finishing up all these classes before 1 p.m., we are very glad to have another successful show behind us. Congratulations to trainer Jill Girardi Thomas and owners SEA Horse Farms, Zahir Arabians, and Tom Rabbitt for such a successful show!
BreyerFest
Jéanne and Jacklyn traveled to BreyerFest in July to celebrate straight Egyptian stallion Thee Desperado being immortalized as a Breyer model horse. We enjoyed spending time with Randi Clark and Judy Sirbasku of Arabians LTD, and most importantly Desperado's son Pimlico RCA (pictured at left with Jacklyn)!
Collecting Breyer horses is a hobby for Jacklyn, and she nominated Thee Desperado a few years ago for this honor. She has now been featured on the Arabians LTD website and an Arabian Horse Times' feature in the August 2008 issue for her involvement!
Welcome Johnny Johnston
We are so blessed to have had Johnny here the first week of September photographing horses. We have enjoyed his company, his commitment to excellence, and most importantly the RESULTS! Stay tuned to see the pictures! Visit Johnny's website at www.johnnyjohnstonphotos.com to view his work.
Welcome MB Satila
We are thrilled to announce the addition of MB Satila (Imperial Saturn x Zandai Zamila) to our broodmare band. Satila has a spectacular pedigree - five out of the seven stallions in the first 3 generations are US Top Ten or better! Her female lines are just as impressive as she carries the blood of the famed Imperial Mistill and the "Nile Dynasty" as well as Ansata foundation mares *Ansata Bint Zaafarana and *Ansata Bint Misr. She has three lines to Alaa El Din.
We are also pleased to welcome Satila's 2008 filly by the black stallion Midnight Bahim, a grandson of US National Champion Ibn Morafic. Satilla's Dancer (pending) is a very upright bay filly with the athleticism, great temperament, and freedom of motion you would expect from her pedigree which is a combination of the best of Gleannloch, Ansata, and Imperial. Both Satila and Dancer are Hadban Enzahi strain, tail female to Nazeer's dam Bint Samiha.
Egyptian Event 2008
Due to an unfortunate last-minute injury to Masada Mazal, the ladies of Brookhill were left to carry the mantel for the farm this year. Fortunately BF Thee Avicenna and BH American Girl were up to the challenge! Fresh off raising her first filly (Bint Avicenna, born 07/07) this was Avicenna's first time in the ring, but she proved she has what it takes, bringing home TopTen Honors in the 6-9 Year Old Mares class for owner Judy James. BH American Girl has proven to be a perennial favorite at the Event, this year bringing home Top Five Honors in the Mares 3& Over ATH with owner Jéanne Abernathy and Top Ten Honors in the Extended Specialty 3 Year Old Mares with trainer Jill Girardi Thomas.
Fun at SAHIBA
3-year old beauty BH American Girl captured the blue at SAHIBA Class A show May 17! American Girl won the 3&4 year old mares class and went Reserve Champion Senior Mare! This was the first class A show for this gorgeous straight Egyptian mare and proves she can compete successfully on the open circuit!
Welcome to the Pinson Family
We are thrilled to welcome the horses of SEA Horse Farm to Brookhill! Owners Richard and Amanda Pinson, along with their son Miller, have brought their fine broodmare herd here for breeding and management. They currently have three outstanding mares:
- S A Kalila Amira (The Elixir x Kindred Spirit SG). Amira is a beautiful grey mare by champion stallion The Elixir. Her tail female line is Dahman Shahwaniyah through influential Babson import *Bint Bint Sabah. Amira is in foal to champion *Mishaal HP for an exciting 2009 foal!
- So Mira SHF (SoVeign x S A Kalila Amira). Sired by 2004 Egyptian Event Junior Champion SoVeign, this 2007 grey filly is one of only six produced before his untimely death as a 3-year old.
- The Aurora (The Minstril xAK Asha Nafia). Aurora is a striking chestnut Saqlawi Jidraniyah Ibn Sudan mare. Her pedigree is an exciting mix of the best in Egyptian breeding. She has only one line to Ruminaja Ali, and combines this with Ibn Galal, *Ibn Hafiza, two lines to El Sareei, and *Khofo on both her sire and dam's side! She is in foal to Egyptian Event Reserve Champion Scapa for a 2009 foal.

The Aurora has a January 2008 colt at her side by Thee Asil (Thee Desperado x Alia Baraka). Ebriz SHF (pending) is a very handsome colt with an upright neck and dishy head.
Champion show gelding Amir Asil (pictured at left with Miller, R. Clark photo) is happily at the farm now too, fresh off his wins at the 2008 Egyptian Event (Top Five in 2& under colts ATH with Miller Pinson and Top Ten 2 Year Old World Class Colts). If you come by the farm, be sure to meet their horses and the Pinson's!

Rimaraa safely in Australia
Congratulations to Mulawa Arabian Stud in Australia on their purchase of the beautiful *Marwan Al Shaqab daughter Rimaraa (right). As of September, Rimaraa has qualified for the Australian National Championships in March of 2009 and has been bred via embryo transfer to Magnum Fourty Four. We congratulate the Farrell's on their purchase and wish them all the best with this great mare. You can check out Mulawa's website here.
BH Thee Third Lady Leased
Congratulations to Kristen & Nick Boatman of Nashville on their lease of BH Thee Third Lady. Kristen & Nick have selected The Elixir to sire Lady's first foal in 2009 and we can't wait to see how this beautiful Thee Desperado daughter produces for them. Congratulations!!
