NEWS / SHOW RESULTS

Welcome Mona Lisa Richard, Amanda, & Miller Pinson of SEA Horse Farm are delighted to announce the purchase of Desperados Mona Lisa. We have known Mona Lisa practically since she was born, and celebrated her first birthday with her beloved owner Becki Liberman at the 2006 Egyptian Event when Becki and Mona won the 2 & Under ATH Novice Fillies class. Mona is a treasure in many ways, and we cannot wait to see her first foal, by US Futurity Top Ten Stallion MB Mistaz, in July 2010. Many thanks to Priscilla McCammon for making this possible.

The Mistaz Movement
We are thrilled and honored to announce the purchase of MB Mistaz. We have searched the world for a stallion who possesses his qualities.
Just to stand near and be in the presence of this regal 16-year old stallion will leave you awestruck. He has so much to contribute to today’s horses - type, tail carriage, perfect legs, an extreme upright neck - and he trots like no other Straight Egyptian stallion. His sire, US National Top Ten Stallion *Ibn Safinaz, and his legendary dam Imperial Mistill live on through this US National Top Ten Futurity Stallion.
He is a rare gift! It is with great reverence, respect, and joy we welcome MB Mistaz to Brookhill Farm. The Mistaz Movement is honored to have been selected by his owner, second generation breeder Melissa Huprich, as the caretakers of his legacy. With sincere gratitude we thank Melissa for making this possible.

Please plan a visit soon to see a glimpse into the future as this young stallion begins to make his mark. |

It's a Boy TWO!
On the same night her 3-year old son Amir Asil was bringing home the blue in Lexington at the Egyptian Event, The Aurora foaled a beautiful colt by Event Reserve Champion and World Cup Top Five Stallion Scapa. This is the first time Aurora has been bred into the Ansata Sinan / *Mishaal HP sire line and it is a good cross. This new colt inherited the line's athleticism, substance, and beautiful face to go with his mother's undeniable quality.

It's a Boy!
Nordic Britanna foaled a gorgeous colt on May 19. His sire is Scottsdale Top Ten & US Egyptian Event Junior Champion Bellagio RCA. This colt is absolutely gorgegous - combining his sire's vertical neck and refinement with his dam's great body and size. He has a rare non-Nazeer sire line to Sameh through El Mareekh and is tail female to the legendary *Deenaa through Amira Sanaa. If you are in the area, please come visit him soon!

May in Kentucky
The Brookhill show crew tackled SAHIBA in Frankfort, KY Mother's Day weekend. Bringing home halter blues were Marjestic WA, Senior Champion Stallion and Zabellah Zahir, 1st 3 & 4 year-old mares. Shinzon Ibn Al-Baskin and Masada Mazal had great showings in their first shows of the year, both bringing home hunter pleasure ribbons in addition to Shinzon Ibn Al-Baskin's blue in Sport Horse in Hand. |
Pedigree Research Results
Internationally known Arabian horse consultant Arlene Magid has completed reports on three of our horses, and we are thrilled to share them. She has done a report for stallion BH Opening Statement, noting details such as this: "A great breeding stallion must come from a strong female family, and BH OPENING STATEMENT’s tail female ancestresses have proven their ability for four generations!"
Arlene also completed work on two of our favorite females, S A Kalila Amira and her daughter Nadirah SHF. Arlene uncovered that Amira was a Top Ten EBC Filly at the 2003 Egyptian Event, an impressive detail unknown to her owners!
You can find out more about Arlene on her website www.arlene magid.com.

First 2009 Foal

Congrats to the Pinson's of SEA Horse Farm on the birth of a *Mishaal HP filly out of S A Kalila Amira on January 24. According to our research, this is the first foal born by Mishaal out of a The Elixir daughter (click here for a view of this rare pedigree). Because of this amazing pedigree, she is named Nadirah SHF (Arabic for "one of a kind").
This filly is very beautiful, personable, and graceful. Amira had a picture-perfect birth and is a great mom. Thanks to Lisa Abraham for the great picture! |
Music City Arabian Show
What a show! Brookhill and trainer Jill Girardi Thomas took six horses to the show - the first ever show for four of the horses!! We consider this our "home show" since it is only 1/2 hour away in Murfreesboro, and we are very proud of winning a halter championship each of the last two years (BH Opening Statement - Junior Champion colt 2006, Rimaraa - Junior Champion Filly 2007). Well, star mare BH American Girl made sure it was a three-peat, bringing home the 2008 Senior Champion Mare title (pictured at right, Lisa Abraham photo)! American Girl and owner Jéanne Abernathy also captured the Amateur to handle mare title. Jéanne went reserve in this class last year with American Girl's full sister BH Mishaala Justina, so this was a sweet win.
2-year old colt Zahbaad Zahir did his part at his first horse show, winning Reserve Junior Champion Colt. His stablemate Zaleeh Zahir, also at her first show, came through in winning fashion, capturing the blue in the 2-year old filly class. Geldings Amir Asil and RTA The Phoenix both came in reserve in the 2-year old and 3 & over gelding halter classes with Jill, respectively. Amateur handler Miller Pinson then stepped to take reserve in the Gelding AOTH class. 5-year old stallion Tango Bey, at his first show, came in third in Sport Horse in Hand Open & ATH with great scores. While Friday was a madhouse, finishing up all these classes before 1 p.m., we are very glad to have another successful show behind us. Congratulations to trainer Jill Girardi Thomas and owners SEA Horse Farms, Zahir Arabians, and Tom Rabbitt for such a successful show! |
BreyerFest
Jéanne and Jacklyn traveled to BreyerFest in July to celebrate straight Egyptian stallion Thee Desperado being immortalized as a Breyer model horse. We enjoyed spending time with Randi Clark and Judy Sirbasku of Arabians LTD, and most importantly Desperado's son Pimlico RCA (pictured at left with Jacklyn)! Collecting Breyer horses is a hobby for Jacklyn, and she nominated Thee Desperado a few years ago for this honor. She has now been featured on the Arabians LTD website and an Arabian Horse Times' feature in August 2008.

Welcome MB Satila
We are thrilled to announce the addition of MB Satila (Imperial Saturn x Zandai Zamila) to our broodmare band. Satila has a spectacular pedigree - five out of the seven stallions in the first 3 generations are US Top Ten or better! Her female lines are just as impressive as she carries the blood of the famed Imperial Mistill and the "Nile Dynasty" as well as Ansata foundation mares *Ansata Bint Zaafarana and *Ansata Bint Misr. She has three lines to Alaa El Din.
We are also pleased to welcome Satila's 2008 filly by the black stallion Midnight Bahim, a grandson of US National Champion Ibn Morafic. Satilla's Dancer (pending) is a very upright bay filly with the athleticism, great temperament, and freedom of motion you would expect from her pedigree which is a combination of the best of Gleannloch, Ansata, and Imperial. Both Satila and Dancer are Hadban Enzahi strain, tail female to Nazeer's dam Bint Samiha. |
Rimaraa safely in Australia
Congratulations to Mulawa Arabian Stud in Australia on their purchase of the beautiful *Marwan Al Shaqab daughter Rimaraa (right). She is a 2009 Top Ten Mare at the Australian National Championships and has been bred via embryo transfer to Magnum Fourty Four. We congratulate the Farrell's on their purchase and wish them all the best with this great mare. You can check out Mulawa's website here. |
