Sport Horse Nationals 2011
Whether watching on-line or in person, the Brookhill family enjoyed a beautiful October day in Kentucky watching Masada Mazal bring home a Top Ten in Sport Horse Show Hack. Show Hack is essentially a dressage class held on the rail and M&M has excelled in this as he has matured into a stallion with powerful and extreme movement. This was the stallion's first time to compete at the national level and we are so proud of him and trainer Jill Girardi Thomas! |
OVAHA Summer Sizzler
It was a girls' weekend out when we took off to Ohio with two of our favorite show horses looking for cooler weather at the OVAHA Summer Sizzler in July. Babson Egyptian stallion Masada Mazal & Jill Girardi Thomas continued their winning ways by winning the Sport Horse Show Hack class and qualifying for Sport Horse Nationals in September. Not to be outdone, Jacklyn & Flash Fire SC also qualified for SH Nationals in SHIH Amateur Geldings! Then they went out and won both Hunter Under Saddle JTR classes! This is only their second show together, so we are very proud of them and the hard work they've put in getting ready. Many thanks to Jill for making them a great team!

Look out 2012 EBC!
It is a matched set for the Pinson's of SEA Horse Farm as The Aurora delivered their second EBC foal of the year, a beautiful filly by The Elixir on June 25. She joins Justynn x S A Kalila Amira son Kalil Mareekh SHF as their 2012 entries in the classes and we can't wait! Get a sneak preview of this stunning filly on our You Tube channel. |
2011 Egyptian Event
It was a busy week for the Brookhill team this year, with the boys making a big impact at the show. Babson Egyptian stallion Masada Mazal (pictured right, Valerie Clinkenbeard photo) and trainer Jill Girardi Thomas presented a very popular show hack demonstration and were honored with the first annual Markel Performance Award. He followed up this beautiful demonstration later in the week with a Reserve Championship in Native Costume - only his second time ever to compete in this discipline!
Jill presented 1993 stallion Sondal (Imperial Imdal x Imperial Sonboleen) twice in the stallion showcase to large crowds anxious to meet this genetic giant. Then, proving that classic type is timeless, he followed up his first Event Top Ten seventeen years ago with a 2011 Top Ten in Aged Stallions!
Not to be outdone, 2009 Scapa son Escapade SHF made his Egyptian Event debut, earning top tens in both the 2 year old Futurity and 2 & under ATH colts with Miller Pinson. |
Congrats to the Boatman's!
Congratulations to Kristen & Nick Boatman, owners of BH Thee Third Lady, on the birth of their first foal! He is a beautiful colt by Canadian & Scottsdale Top Ten Stallion The Elixir. Lady is a Thee Desperado daughter out of a The Minstril daughter, so this is a proven succesful cross and this colt is no exception. We look forward to watching him grow! |
Welcome to the Trausch Family and Salamat Al Jannat
We are thrilled to welcome the Trausch family of Huntsville, Alabama and their beautiful stallion Salamat Al Jannat (Thee Infidel x Thee Asriel Salam). The Trausch's share our belief that Straight Egyptian Arabians should be wonderful riding horses as well as beautiful examples of Arabian type. Salamat is a natural western horse, so look for him in a show ring near you later this year!

First 2011 Foal!
Look out 2012 EBC Colts Class! We are very excited to welcome this year's first foal - a stunning bay colt owned by the Pinson's of SEA Horse Farm. This colt, by Las Vegas World Cup Top Five and Egyptian Event Junior Champion Justynn (Alixir X Bint Bint Justina) and out of S A Kalila Amira (The Elixir x Kindred Spirit SG), was bred to double up on the rare and powerful El Mareekh sire line and he looks it! He has a very loving attitude and is very athletic, with a beautiful hip and shoulder and vertical set of the neck, plus a gorgeous face. Come by and meet him soon! |
Welcome Sondal and The Martin's
We are so pleased to welcome Sondal (Imperial Imdal+ x Imperial Sonboleen) and his owners Janice and Forrest Martin to Brookhill. We are honored they have chosen us to help care for him and delighted to have them at the farm! There is nothing better than people who love their horses and share that love with everyone like they do! |
Congratulations to Sunrise Arabians
Congratulations to Sunrise Arabians of Israel on their purchase of BH Mishaala Sieraa (*Mishaal HP x Nordic Britanna).
Sieraa is the second of the great Mishaal x Nordic cross, after her big brother BH Opening Statement. She is not only beautiful but also very sweet. We wish you many years of joy and wonderful foals with her. |
Dixie Gulf Ruff Out Show
What fun we had down on the Florida Panhandle - 3 horses and 3 championships! The 80 degree weather in November didn't hurt either...
Congrats to Masada Mazal making his debut in Show Hack and bringing home the championship. BH Bonavox made his Class A show debut and came home Jr Champion Gelding and with the blue in Geldings Amateur to Handle against all ages.
Flashfire SC also made his debut with new owner Jacklyn Abernathy and they won the Sport Horse in Hand Amateur Gelding championship, as well as 3rd in the large junior to ride hunter under saddle class. |
American Girl on the Move
Congratulations to Yorklyn Arabians on their acquisition of BH American Girl. American Girl is one of *Mishaal HP's most beautiful and most successful daughters, and her dam is a maternal sister to Yorklyn's own superstar stallion Justynn. We look forward to watching her and her offspring take their place in Yorklyn's internationally succesful breeding program. |
2010 Egyptian Event
It was a big show string that took off from Franklin this year for Lexington - and they didn't fail to bring home the ribbons! While the show ring was great, the highlight of the week was undeniably the "Meet Mistaz" party on Thursday afternoon, where hundreds of his fans came out to see Mistaz at his first appearance at the Event in at least five years. His week culminated in being one of the highest selling EBC auction breedings!
Amateur owners Jeanne Abernathy and Miller Pinson had a blast in the 2 & under Colts ATH class, both bringing home Top Ten ribbons with BH Bonavox and Ebriz SHF. Both colts also placed Top Ten with Jill Girardi Thomas in their open classes - Yearling Futurity 4/15-12/31 and 2 Year Old World Class colts. Miller and SoMira SHF garnered a "repeat" of last year's amateur win in the amateur mares class, winning Top Ten as one of the youngest entries in the 3 & over mares class.
Jill and Miller enjoying the Gala.
BH American Girl went Top Ten in the 4 & 5 Year Old Mares Class with Jill Girardi Thomas, just before being purchased by Yorklyn Arabians. And not to be satisfied with just halter ribbons, straight Babson stallion Masada Mazal had a triumpant return to the Event with a strong Top 3 Finish in the Hunter Pleasure Championship. |
2010 Foals
Desperados Mona Lisa delivered her much anticipated first foal - a filly - by MB Mistaz on July 13 (pictured at right). This little one is everything we wanted in the cross - beautiful, intelligent, and full of personality. Please schedule a visit soon to come meet her - you'll be glad you did!
The Aurora (The Minstril x
AK Asha Nafia) delivered a gorgeous colt by Las Vegas Top Five and Event Reserve Champion Scapa around midnight June 30. A full brother to 2009 colt Escapade SHF, this little one shares his brother's beautiful head and intelligence. Aurora's 2008 colt Ebriz SHF (by Thee Asil) picked up two more Event Top Tens this year in both World Class 2-year olds and ATH 2 & under.
Nordic Britanna delivered a beautiful bay filly by EP Vega (Ali Aten x HF Allure) on June 2, 2010, just two days before Vega was crowned US Egyptian Event Champion Stallion, 6-7 years old. Nordic's 2009 colt by Bellagio RCA was also named Top Ten in the Amateur Colts 2 & under and Top Ten in the Yearling Futurity that week! |
The Mistaz Movement
We are thrilled and honored to announce the purchase of MB Mistaz. We have searched the world for a stallion who possesses his qualities.
Just to stand near and be in the presence of this regal 16-year old stallion will leave you awestruck. He has so much to contribute to today’s horses - type, tail carriage, perfect legs, an extreme upright neck - and he trots like no other Straight Egyptian stallion. His sire, US National Top Ten Stallion *Ibn Safinaz, and his legendary dam Imperial Mistilll live on through this US National Top Ten Futurity Stallion.
He is a rare gift!

Music City Arabian Show
What a show! Brookhill and trainer Jill Girardi Thomas took six horses to the show - the first ever show for four of the horses!! We consider this our "home show" since it is only 1/2 hour away in Murfreesboro, and we are very proud of winning a halter championship each of the last two years (BH Opening Statement - Junior Champion colt 2006, Rimaraa - Junior Champion Filly 2007). Well, star mare BH American Girl made sure it was a three-peat, bringing home the 2008 Senior Champion Mare title (pictured at right, Lisa Abraham photo)! American Girl and owner Jéanne Abernathy also captured the Amateur to handle mare title. Jéanne went reserve in this class last year with American Girl's full sister BH Mishaala Justina, so this was a sweet win.
2-year old colt Zahbaad Zahir did his part at his first horse show, winning Reserve Junior Champion Colt. His stablemate Zaleeh Zahir, also at her first show, came through in winning fashion, capturing the blue in the 2-year old filly class. Geldings Amir Asil and RTA The Phoenix both came in reserve in the 2-year old and 3 & over gelding halter classes with Jill, respectively. Amateur handler Miller Pinson then stepped to take reserve in the Gelding AOTH class. 5-year old stallion Tango Bey, at his first show, came in third in Sport Horse in Hand Open & ATH with great scores. While Friday was a madhouse, finishing up all these classes before 1 p.m., we are very glad to have another successful show behind us. Congratulations to trainer Jill Girardi Thomas and owners SEA Horse Farms, Zahir Arabians, and Tom Rabbitt for such a successful show! |
Rimaraa safely in Australia
Congratulations to Mulawa Arabian Stud in Australia on their purchase of the beautiful *Marwan Al Shaqab daughter Rimaraa (right). She is a 2009 Top Ten Mare at the Australian National Championships who has now produced two Australian National Reserve Champions! We congratulate the Farrell's on their purchase and wish them all the best with this great mare. You can check out Mulawa's website here. |
